RICHLAND COUNTY, SC — April 15, 2025 — The Richland County Sheriff’s Department is urgently requesting the public’s help in locating Daviyon Thames, a 16-year-old boy who has been missing since the evening of Saturday, April 12. Thames was last seen around 6:00 p.m. at his residence on Setter Lane, and there has been no sign of him since.
As hours turn into days, the search has grown more desperate, and concern continues to mount among family members, neighbors, and law enforcement officials. Deputies say that Daviyon’s disappearance is unusual and troubling, given the lack of communication and the sudden nature of his vanishing.
Last Known Location and Circumstances
Daviyon was reportedly last seen leaving or at his home on Setter Lane, a quiet residential street in Richland County. Authorities have not yet released further information regarding what he was wearing or what his plans may have been at the time. It is unclear whether he left on foot or entered a vehicle.
Despite canvassing the area and speaking with neighbors, no credible sightings have yet been reported. Investigators are reviewing security footage from nearby homes and businesses in hopes of tracing his steps or identifying anyone who may have been with him that evening.
Ongoing Investigation and Public Assistance
The Richland County Sheriff’s Department is actively investigating Daviyon’s disappearance and says all possibilities remain on the table, including the potential that he left voluntarily or was enticed away. At this time, they are not ruling out foul play, but no suspects or persons of interest have been publicly named.
Sheriff’s deputies are encouraging residents of Setter Lane and surrounding neighborhoods to check doorbell cameras, security systems, and dashcam footage from the evening of April 12 in case they may have captured Daviyon or anything suspicious that could aid the investigation.
“We are doing everything we can to bring Daviyon home safely,” said a spokesperson for the Richland County Sheriff’s Department. “But we need the public’s eyes and ears. If anyone saw anything that seemed out of place, or has heard from Daviyon in any way, please reach out immediately.”
